Mott is professor emeritus of engineering technologies in the University of Dayton. He’s a Fellow of ASEE and also a recipient of the ASEE James H. McGraw Award as well as also the Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award by the Mechanics Division. He’s a recipient of the SME Education Award. He also holds the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from General Motors Institute (Currently Kettering University) and the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. His job experience includes serving as a research scientist for General Motors Corporation, consulting for industrial customers, working at the University of Dayton Research Institute, directing the Center for Advanced Manufacturing for UDRI, and expert witness for injury analysis cases for automotive and industrial injury cases. He’s also served as a senior employees for 12 years to its NSF-sponsored National Center for Manufacturing Education located in Dayton, Ohio.
